Pediatric Health and Diseases

Our Pediatric Health and Diseases Department consists of experienced specialists in their fields who work in harmony with each other. Our hospital is equipped with the latest technological facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of children. The areas where children are examined in our outpatient clinic have the largest surface areas among the hospitals in our city, and they are designed so that children can finish getting examined accompanied by their families and without being bored. We often hear parents commenting, “this is the first time she/he has not cried during an examination”.

Our hospital’s Pediatric Health and Diseases Department is divided into Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Service and Polyclinics. We are capable of performing outpatient and inpatient follow-up of our patients.

The babies who are born on time are first examined at the hospital accompanied by their mothers on the day they are born. Then, the baby is examined on the 4th day after birth, during which general examination is performed along with jaundice and blood type tests and hearing test. The mother is encouraged to breastfeed her baby. The checks are repeated when the baby is 14-15 days old, and weight gain and umbilical cord status is checked, and prolonged jaundice is detected, if any. Later, on the 30th day, the baby is checked again to see if the baby suffers from congenital hip dislocation using a hip ultrasonography on the same day. If everything is fine about the baby, the baby will be checked once a month in the first 6 months and every 2 months in the next 6 months. Monitoring of vaccines takes place as a government program and special vaccines. The right time to start supplementary foods is determined and nutrition menus are discussed. For children with appetite and sleep problems, we try to find common solutions to such problems in coordination with the families.

Our Tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Service, which includes 15 fully equipped incubators for premature babies or babies born with problems, is at your service with an experienced team. Newborns who need to be connected to a respiratory device, newborns with special nutrition problems, low-weight newborns, newborns with infections and many other problems are treated in this service. Our mortality morbidity rates are in compliance with the the rates limited by the World Health Organization.

In our Pediatric Service, we monitor babies, who are admitted here from a polyclinic or the Emergency Service, with neonatal jaundice (those who are not within the blood exchange limit; those who require blood exchange are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit), bronchiolitis, bronchopneumonia, cases of diarrhea, and febrile diseases where fever does not reduce.

In our polyclinic, we can diagnose, treat and monitor any pediatric disease.
