After he was born in Ankara in 1978, he completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. He started his medical education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1994 and received the title of medical doctor in 2001. Plastic Surgery life started in May 2002 and worked as a research assistant at Ankara Numune Hospital 1st Plastic Surgery Clinic between May 2002 and December 2007. In 2007, he prepared a comprehensive thesis on the evaluation of the risk of fat embolism after liposuction. After completing his compulsory service at Bingöl State Hospital between February 2008 and October 2009, he started to work at Balıkesir Atatürk State Hospital in November 2009. Between April 2010 and March 2011, he did his military service at Istanbul Gulhane Military Medical Academy and worked actively in the Plastic Surgery Clinic. He worked as a specialist physician at Balıkesir State Hospital and Balıkesir Atatürk State Hospital between 2011-2021. In 2021, he resigned from his duty at Balıkesir State Hospital and started to work at Private Medifema Hospital. He is still working as a Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist in the same hospital.
        Among his special interests are; face and whole body aesthetic surgery, aesthetic and functional nose surgeries, breast aesthetics, non-surgical aesthetic procedures, treatment of congenital and acquired disorders of the head and face region, hand injuries and skin tumors can be counted.
         Dr. Dursun Atakul is a member of Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, Wound Care Association and Izmir Medical Chamber. He is married and has two children.
